Rivers know no boundaries.

Met with a Metro Vancouver planner today who helped with the Still Creek restoration.  There is now chum salmon spawning in the restored habitat.  As she described the complex task of negotiating protection for a river,  I understood that rivers and ecosystems know no municipal boundaries.  They simply wander in and out of private and public land, crossing territories, through unimaginable pollution and also through some pretty parkland.   With all the different stakeholders who connect with the river, effective dialogue is a necessary part of restoration work.  The results are always worth it.
